Golf tip: Three rules for practice
When a golfer decides to devote time to practice, it is important to have a plan for the session. I have three rules for my students:
1) Always hit your ball to a very specific target. You would never (I hope!) hit a shot on the golf course to a wide, general area.
2) Never hit more than three balls at the same target. Change targets, change your club, change something. It will keep you thinking and focused.
3) Practice hitting balls from strange situations ... sidehill lies, out of rough, out of divots, off hardpan. How many 5-iron shots on perfectly level ground to you actually hit when you play?
