"We have been doing this the longest, for 96 years," says James West, a manager at Arthur Murray. "We give 150 percent."

"We have been dancing for 29 years," Grasso said. "We like to pass on our passion for dance to the bride and groom and see it shine through them."

Silva teaches ballroom, Salsa, FoxTrot, tango and other styles of dance. Prices start at $28 per couple for an hour-and-a-half in a group. For private lessons, try the wedding package, five one-hour lessons for $395.

The school trains dancers for competition, said Gwen Silva, the owner, "so that should give you the idea about the standard." Students, she added, love the lessons. "After the wedding, they come back for more."

"Some studios teach the same old routine to everyone," said Sherman. "Every wedding routine I teach is different because every couple is different."
