Before the Bridge is a place for casual dining with the emphasis on seafood. It has a view of the waterfront for dessert. The bridge in question os the Ponquogue Bridge, to which Foster Avenue and Lighthouse Road. The house's fixed-price menu includes fried oysters, baked clams, roasted swordfish and shrimp-scampi style; for the carnivorous, they have strip steak and lamb chops. A la carte, try the steamed or broiled lobsters, and the Bridge "lobster bake," which brings in lobster, clams mussels, potatoes and corn. Alternatives: crab cakes, seared sesame tuna, a surf-and-turf of shrimp and filet mignon, and stuffed and broiled flounder, and, if you want to get a bit exotic in this environment, pan-seared breast of duck and confit of duck leg. For dessert, the choices range from creme brulee to rice pudding.

Hours: Dinner every day, from 4 p.m. Lunch, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
