TIP OF THE WEEK

Balance

June 15, 2006
"Spending time with LPGA Tour star Natalie Gulbis this week helped me realize you do not have to achieve 'perfect' backswing positions to hit very good shots. She combines great strength, balance and natural rhythm to overcome some blatant backswing flaws and consistently hits world class shots.

"Increase your balance by making some easy practice swings with a short iron on one foot or with your feet close together. See how much arm swing speed you can create without losing balance. Hit some shots off a tee in this manner and you will be amazed how far you can hit with very little effort.

"By instilling some one-footed balance into your normal swing, your good shots will become great and your bad shots will become much more playable."
