Long Island's most ambitious historical project comprises about two dozen antebellum structures moved to the village from original locations to represent a typical 19th century Long Island community. Structures include the Layton General Store and home (1866). District #6 Schoolhouse (1845) and the Powell Farm (1855) with animals, barn, carriage shed, smokehouse and other out buildings. Costumed staff members demonstrate various crafts such as hat making, decoy carving, weaving, quilting and both open hearth and wood stove cooking. Features historic music, military re-enactments and Old Time Base Ball. Summer programs for children. Special programs and events presented seasonally year-round.

Thanksgiving Celebration
Demonstrations of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared in old-fashioned wood-burning stoves, beehive ovens and open hearths. Historical musical programs each afternoon.
