Even if this vintage diner weren't a morning magnet for local power brokers, Tim's Shipwreck Diner in Northport (631-754-1797) would still draw crowds with its inventive omelet specials and satisfying pancakes and waffles, available multigrain and fruit-studded. Tim's oatmeal can warm up a wintry morning. At lunch, homestyle salmon cakes or macaroni and cheese are usually on the specials board. Locals are proud that the place served as a backdrop for scenes in the 1997 movie "In and Out." (Breakfast and lunch only.)
