La Bussola

La Bussola specializes in Neapolitan cooking, robust and to the point. It's a generous place.

And one with enduring popularity. The portions are ample and consistent, the service cordial and accommodating, the dining room old-fashioned and comfortable.

This is a fine stop for rustic eggplant rollatine and zesty linguine alla puttanesca; a plump stuffed artichoke and an overdose of fried calamari.

Striped bass alla Livornese is preferable to almost any other preparation of fish. La Bussola isn't about Dover sole meuniere, though they'll send one out if you like.

Veal chops are husky and juicy, the veal Marsala tender and sweet. Chicken scarpariello offers heft and full flavor.

For dessert, the cheesecake and the cannoli deserve the most attention.

You won't leave hungry.
