Legends, in the tiny little hamlet of New Suffolk, is two places in one. The dining room offers eclectic international cuisine with tablecloths, fresh flowers, and African-style art. On the pub side, the decor includes classic sports memorabilia, brass and etched glass, and a stone fireplace. The restaurant serves locals, but also draws diners from a wide area, even for lunch. Local produce, seafood and wine are staples. For an appetizer, try the grilled shrimp with Brazilian hearts of palm, with chilled asparagus and a miso-ginger dressing for $11. An entree might be the Portugese-style clams and sausage, with herbs, tomatoes, onions and bacon, served with rice for $22. The pub side offers burgers, sandwiches and pizza as well as a limited number of entree choices. The pub has a huge number of libation choices, including 200-plus beers from 34 countries. At dinner, children are seated in the pub side only.
