Yuki Amano is everybody's mother at this small, homey Japanese restaurant where even first-time diners get treated like family. Come more than once, and you're immediate family.

Amano's husband, Toshi Kazu Amano, is in charge of the kitchen, which sends out a fine chicken negamaki, his specialty. Sushi is fresh and reliable. Try the spicy tuna roll or the salmon skin roll, both fine.

At lunch, you'll see regulars from the nearby Nassau County courts as well as area shoppers. At dinner, families and couples take over. This is also a good place for singles, who won't lack for dinner conversation, thanks to Amano.
