You can take a nostalgic trip to the old neighborhood at this Rockville Centre checkered-tablecloth Italian eatery, decorated to replicate the owners' grandparents' Manhattan restaurant.

No matter what else you order, you absolutely must have the wonderfully crisp-crusted pizza, its tomato and cheese topping a veritable homage to garlic. Spaghetti and meatballs is a dish designed to soothe. Any of the sandwiches will satisfy hunger of both body and soul. Try the melanzane, grilled eggplant with fresh basil, roasted peppers and mozzarella.

Desserts, in comparison, are fairly routine. An espresso is all you'll need.
