Caruso's

Wayne Wadington, chef owner of La Plage in Wading River, also commands the kitchen of the new Caruso's, which he co-owns with manager John Caruso. Caruso, who bought the old Alfie's, remodeled it and brought Wadington on board five months ago.

"We want to keep things reasonably priced," said Wadington, whose Italian menu offers such items as a chef's tasting of artisanal meats and cheeses as well as a selection of crostini. Also featured are several house-made pastas, such as lobster ravioli.

The restaurant's bluestone patio, decorated with trelliswork and gardens, is the scene of outdoor summer dining.
