E.B. Elliot's

23 Woodcleft Avenue
Freeport, NY 11520
516-378-8776

Located at the very top of the Nautical Mile's canal, E.B. Elliot's has less of a water view than some other establishments. But it makes up for it with one of the nicer interiors: classic pub with lots of wood and brass. There's also a second-floor dining room with its own deck. The seafood-heavy menu has many Asian influences: kung-pao chicken, shrimp and calamari; seared ahi tuna with lo mein noodles, wonton-crusted tempura shrimp, Thai chicken and pasta. Entrees tend toward the embellished: almond-crusted St. Peter's fish with lobster beurre blanc, grilled maple-mustard salmon with lobster home fries, oven-roasted rack of lamb with mushroom-dried cherry risotto and ried wine demi glace. (Don't worry about the kids: they have their choice of mac and cheese, burgers, grilled cheese, chicken fingers or spaghetti marinara.)
