Himawari

Himawari covers all the basics you want at a local Japanese restaurant. The modestly appointed eatery does include a tatami room. But you'll have a fine time right at the sushi bar, diving into whatever is fresh today. Ask, pick, enjoy, whether nigirizushi, the traditional presentation with uncooked fish on ovals of vinegared rice; conical handrolls; or the house's more elaborate special rolls. They also prepare a tasty tuna tartare and tuna carpaccio, satisfying vegetable tempura, and tender beef negimaki, wrapped around scallion and finished with a sweet teriyaki glaze.
