Empire Szechuan Gourmet is Long Island's all-singing, all-dancing Asian eatery, serving a huge selection of Chinese and Japanese dishes with consistent quality and good value. There is almost no dining yen that can't be satisfied here. Old-school types will enjoy moo shu pork, wonton soup, moo goo gai pan and lo mein. Diners looking for more authentic specialties have their pick of Chinatown-style roast meats, meal-sized noodle soups and dim sum. Japanese offerings range from sushi and sashimi to teriyaki, tempura and udon. On a diet? ESG has a "special diet" menu in which all dishes are free from fat, sugar, corn starch and sodium as well as a "revolution diet" menu that appears to be high-protein and low-carb.
