Consistency is what counts at Jonathan's, a very good Italian restaurant that has become a mainstay in town. The atmosphere is warm and the mood friendly even when the joint is packed. Accommodating service, too, just in case you have to speed things up to get to the nearby movies. The dining room has a pleasant, rustic style. The food is more refined. Try the sauteed baby artichokes with basil oil, crab cakes with fennel-and-tomato salad, mushroom risotto and any of the housemade pastas. The braised lamb shank in red winesauce and the polletto al mattone, an herbaceous plate of free-range chicken are recommended, too. Plenty of well-chosen wine by the glass.
