Sombrero-less and mariachi-free, absent bean burritos and minus chimichangas, Besito kisses the cliches good-bye. This buoyant, upscale spot rescues you from taco hell with flair. It's a sunny, friendly establishment, with very good margaritas, fine choice of tequilas, and some of the best Mexican food you'll find on Long Island. Sample the guacamole, made at tableside, and spiked with as much heat as you want. They make very satisfying ceviche, tortilla soup, queso fundido, ans seafood dishes such as snapper Vera Cruz, red snapper taco, budin de mariscos. The mole poblano has depth. There are a few good desserts, notably the tres leches cake and the chocolate cake. But the best sweet is gratis: churros, south-of-the-border crullers dusted with cinnamon sugar.
