Grecian Grill

261 Main Street
Farmingdale, NY 11735

Grecian Grill is a one of Long Island's hundreds of modest, Greek-owned luncheonette-coffee shops, but it wears its Hellenic identity proudly, from its name, to its decor, to its menu. Aside from diner standards such as burgers, shakes, BLTs and turkey wraps, Grecian Grill serves dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), tzatziki (cucumber-yogurt dip), tarama (mullet roe dip) and saganaki (fried cheese). And those are just starters. Greek mains include gyros, both chicken and pork souvlaki (as sandwiches or dinners, which include Greek salad and pita bread), moussaka (Greek eggplant-tomato casserole), pastitsio (Greek lasagna), spanikopita (spinch filo pie) and fried calamari with skordalia, the famous Greek garlic dip. Of course desserts include baklava and galaktoboureko, custard-filo pie. Grecian Grill is a friendly place right in the center of Farmingdale's business district, good for lunch or a quick dinner.
