Now in its 15th year, Cafe Max is a relaxed restaurant that specializes in continental fare and fresh local fish from Montauk. The grey sole is broiled and topped with mango and almonds. It costs $24.50 and comes with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The market price bay scallops are sauteed in olive oil with a touch of garlic and beurre blanc sauce. Roast rack of lamb with garlic is $28. A three-course prix fixe dinner is offered Monday and Wednesday for $23. Steak, chicken and veal dishes are also available. The cozy dining room with wood walls, paintings, pictures and mirrors seats 55. A full bar is available, along with an extensive wine list.
