Torcellos

An ecletic Italian restaurant in the Elwood Shopping Center, Torcellos has traditional Italian decor in a dining room that can seat 88. The restaurant has a wide variety of appetizers, salads, pizzas and teriffic soups. Pastas include grilled sea scallops over bowties with roasted peppers, prosciutto and sun-dried tomatoes in garlic and oil, and farfalle rustica, which has chicken-filled sausage, broccoli rabe, pignoli and sun-dried tomatoes in a garlic and oil sauce. Both are $14.95. A favorite is the stuffed filet of sole and stuffed shrimp. The sole is rolled with crawfish and scallops in a ricotta and spinach filling, and three shrimp are stuffed with prosciutto and provolone cheese in a scampi sauce. It costs $17.95 and comes with a garden salad. A kids' menu is offered.
