There are a few things on the menu now that weren't there when Steven and Maria Sciari opened their breakfast and lunch spot eight years ago, across from the St. James Railroad Station. Take the Joe Omelet, a husky concoction of three eggs, filled with bacon, ham, onions, sausage and cheese, named after the landscaper who special-requested it. Or the warm and crusty Cubano sandwich with two kinds of meats and pickles that evolved from another order. Everything except the muffins and poundcake grabbed by commuters with their morning java is made from scratch, including the banana-nut pancakes that keep the grill going. The busiest months, inexplicably, are October and November, but even then, a wait for one of the 30 or so seats is only about 15 or 20 minutes. Kids can order "Mickey Mouse" or silver dollar pancakes with chocolate chips or blueberries. The egg salad is made while you wait. You can order a BLT, but those letters in the eatery's name stand for breakfast, lunch and takeout. Coffee is fresh-brewed, but no fancy flavors.
