Part of the Fire Island National Seashore. Display covers history of Fire Island Lighthouse and U.S. Lifesaving Service (pre-Coast Guard). Long Island's tallest lighthouse has 182 winding steps. Special summer programs to be announced. Special programs year-round.

9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. daily July-August (until 8:30 p.m. Thur.); 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily April-June except Easter; 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Daylight Saving Time Labor Day through mid-December; 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily Eastern Standard Time except Thanksgiving; noon-4:00 p.m. weekends and holidays mid-December through March except Christmas. Call for schedules.

Watch the BAD team re-enact the historic rescue drill performed by the surfmen of the United States Life Saving Service to bring shipwreck victims ashore
