Freedom BBQ serves a menu of pit-smoked specialties as pulled pork, baby back ribs and Texas smoked brisket. There are also items like pan seared salmon and grilled chicken sandwich.

According to co-owner Joe Ceraulo, the pit master goes by the single name of George, no surname, and learned his craft in Memphis. One of George's specialties is something called pulled pork blankets, thin pastry crust stuffed with pulled pork.

The place, situated where Benigan's used to be, offers table service, a full bar as well as curbside takeout.
