Huntington, NY 11743

Big Kahuna owner George Riccio grew up in Queens and Brooklyn, near a fabulous neighborhood burger joint. When he opened his Huntington restaurant, he tracked down the meat distributor who supplied the restaurant to do the same for his own, and he bases his burgers on those childhood memories. This restaurant also has a billiard hall, a 30-foot granite bar and a lounge with an inviting fireplace. The theme is Polynesian, with banana and palm trees throughout. The bar features frozen drinks and martinis, such as a mango martini. The restaurant can seat 60 and offers a wide range of appetizers, wraps, panini, and sandwiches. Six fried coconut battered shrimp served on skewers with sweet and sour sauce cost $9.95, as does crab Rangoon, six dumplings stuffed with cream cheese and crab served with teriyaki sauce.
